Praveen Oommen is one of clinical directors of the C.A.R.E. Institute. He has been a practicing physiotherapist for more than 11 years. Praveen graduated with a Master’s degree in physiotherapy from Dr M.G.R Medical University, India. He has academic and clinical experience working in Bangalore (India), Calgary, and currently in Windsor. At the C.A.R.E. Institute, he specializes in orthopedic manual therapy of patients suffering from chronic headaches and spinal problems resulting from workplace and motor vehicle accidents. Praveen has extensive training in Manual Therapy and the McKenzie technique. Praveen is also involved in a clinical supervisory role with both nurse practitioners and physiotherapy students. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy (DScPT) specializing in manipulative physiotherapy from Andrews University, Michigan.

Jai has been practising physiotherapy since 2002, graduating from Dr MGR Medical University in India.Jai’s certifications and skills include Mulligan’s manipulative therapy, clinical exercise physiology from American Council of Sports Medicine, certification in yoga therapy, and acupuncture from India and from APTEI right here in Canada. He continues to develop his skills through continued medical education and is always curious to develop newer strategies in treatment techniques.He gained strong experience from working under eminent orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine doctors from India. He also worked for elite cricket team and corporate companies like Nippon paints, Petrofac and L&T.
At Care Institute, he integrates his skills and experience in treating a wide range of cases from motor vehicle injuries, WSIB, to musculoskeletal and sports injuries. He believes in achieving complete wellness by finding the right source of pain and composing a personalized therapeutic plan through a holistic approach such as education, exercise, and lifestyle modification.
He likes to explore new places with his wife Banu and two kids, Aarya and Aarush. He has a great passion in cricket, singing, and motor biking.
After completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Wayne State University in 2013, Matt went on to complete a two-year orthopedic manual fellowship (OMPT) at Oakland University in 2017. Matt has extensive outpatient orthopedic experience at various private and hospital-based clinics in Michigan and California since the start of his career. He also currently works as an inpatient physiotherapist at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit since 2015.
Matt has sport medicine experience at a D1 college in Michigan performing on-field injury assessments as well as pre- and post-game treatments. Matt has had a few years of teaching at Wayne State's physiotherapy program as an instructional assistant and he continues to stay up to date with practice guidelines by using evidence-based treatment recommendations.
Matt’s 10+ years of experience as a personal trainer and fitness instructor helps him use exercise to treat his patients, regardless of their functional level or personal goals. Matt's high energy and motivated personality helps him develop a personalized treatment for every one of his patients.
Jon was born and raised in Windsor. Throughout his life, Jon has played a multitude of sports including football and participating in track & field. Jon studied at the University of Windsor, graduating with an honours bachelor degree in Human Kinetics and furthered his studies by completing the Masters of Science in Physiotherapy program at Queens’ University in Kingston Ontario. He has been practicing as a Physiotherapist since 2022. During his time at Queens’, Jon has accumulated plenty of experience working with doctors and surgeons in an outpatient setting and with pre- and post-op orthopedic patients, which include a multitude of conditions such as joint replacements and muscle repairs.
Jon enjoys an active approach to working with his patients. He incorporates exercise using evidence-based treatment guidelines and recommendations to guide his treatment plans, along with manual therapy. He has always had a passion for helping others regardless of their functional levels. He takes pride in being able to help each and every one of his patients to the best of his ability. In his spare time, Jon enjoys working out, traveling to different areas of the world and has a great passion for American football.
Dr. Jason Chapieski is born and raised in Windsor. Growing up, Jason was extremely active playing hockey and baseball. He studied at Wayne State University taking Kinesiology and playing on the WSU baseball team on athletic scholarship. After undergrad, Dr. Chapieski attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr. Chapieski has great passion for giving back to his community by working with various teams including the Windsor Spitfires, AKO Fratmen, and the Sun County Panthers hockey team.
Jason is trained in Acupuncture and is full body Active Release Techniques certified. His passion has always been on being active and helping others and he is now able to pair this with his clinical knowledge and drive his passion towards helping people return to their best functional self. He is dedicated to maintaining and improving his clinical and manual skills by taking continuing education courses. Dr. Chapieski is an evidence based, patient centered doctor that is committed to lifelong learning. Dr. Chapieski enjoys living a healthy lifestyle. He has done numerous marathons, half Ironmans and completed the 2016 Full Ironman race in Mont Tremblant. He loves to spend as much time as possible with his wife Melissa and two sons, Cohen and Pierce.
Doug received his Bachelor of Science with Honours degree from the University of Windsor, in 1980, and graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 1984, with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He is in good standing with the Canadian Chiropractic Association, the Ontario Chiropractic Association, the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, and the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association.
Doug has been taking care of the people of Windsor, and Essex County for 34 years. He joined The C.A.R.E. Institute team in June 2019. Doug looks forward to helping you to improve and maintain your general spinal health, including sports and work-related injuries. Doug has been married for 37 years. He and his wife have two children and two grandchildren.
Bessie has been a Registered Massage Therapist since graduating from Everest College and is a member in good standing with the CMTO (College of Massage Therapists of Ontario) and the RMTAO (Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario) since 2011. Bessie enjoys helping everyone from infants to seniors, to achieve optimal health and well-being. Being a mother of three, Bessie knows the many benefits of massage before, during, and after pregnancy. She is also passionate about massage therapy for children and infants. Children have their own stress and pain that they carry around on a daily basis, whether it is growing pains or stress from school, all children can benefit from learning how to understand and take care of their bodies.
Bessie is dedicated to working with each of her clients to form the best treatment plan that is suited to their individual wants and needs. To make sure she has the knowledge and skills to provide her treatments, Bessie has continued to further her education by attending conferences and taking courses that allow her to accomplish this goal. Bessie has experience treating a wide variety of conditions, including; Piriformis Syndrome, Sciatic pain and discomfort, tension headaches, whiplash, plantar fasciitis, muscle sprains and strains, frozen shoulder, and many more. Bessie uses a wide variety of techniques in her treatments such as; Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point release, PNF, strain-counterstrain, and deep tissue massage just to name a few. Bessie is also certified to perform; Hot Stone, Cupping, and Indi Head Massage.
